Using it
How it works
- Open .events: the Live tab shows the clues while the hunt runs. It is one of the hourly World Events: every full hour one event starts, picked by the players vote or at random 5 minutes ahead. A GM can also start it by hand. In a town an event uses, the VIP town speed bonus is off until it is over.
- One boss hides in a farming zone of level 70+ for 30 minutes, with 1.5x life. Nobody is told where: four clues open over time (the region and level range, the zone, a landmark, then the distance and direction from the Gatekeeper landing).
- From the last clue, when you come within 1500 of the boss a yellow arrow shows above your character for 2 seconds and points at it, with a line on screen and in chat (distance and direction). It comes back every 30 seconds while you stay in range. It goes away at once when you walk out of range or the target is gone; nobody outside the range gets it.
- The fight: the boss calls minions at 75 and 25 percent of its life, blinks to another spot of its zone at 50 percent and gets stronger in its last minutes. If it is not slain in time it slips away.
What you keep and lose
- The kill is 1500 points split by damage. Points: every 100 damage you deal = 1 point, the value of each kill split by the damage each player dealt, and 0 points for a heal or buff on a player who already scored (at most one per 3 seconds). Any points = Participant; 200 points and 0.5% of all points = Contributor; 600 points and either 3% of all points or one of the first 10 places = Top; the most points = Winner.
- The reward is World Event Points, spent in the World Event Shop (.events > Shop): Participant 10 points, Contributor 30 points, Top 60 points, Winner 100 points, plus points for your score, times the weight of the event. An account earns at most 400 points a day. Any level can take part; one payment per account and per connection; ghosts and Offline Farm characters never.
Tips
- The hunt ends when the boss is slain or the time is up.
